Dreamers Non-Profit Organization:
Taiwan's Innovative Support for Micro NGOs

Mission: Ensuring All Micro NGOs Can Operate Without Worries.

OUR FOUNDING STORY

Dreamers was founded by Alin (Yilin Wu), now CEO. After his attempt to learn from a major foundation went unanswered, he invested his charitable funds into building GOMAJI in 2010 under the principle: “Grow at scale, create positive impact, and help more people.” He later turned GOMAJI’s model into an easy way to give by featuring nonprofit projects alongside products—leading to Dreamers’ formal establishment in Taiwan in 2012.

OUR UNIQUE MODEL & CULTURE

Dreamers is Taiwan’s first nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Micro NGOs. We are the essential supporter of these vital grassroots organizations.

100 Dollars, 100% Impact

We operate with innovative technology and business thinking in philanthropy. We are committed to upholding a unique model: Dreamers absorbs all advertising, transaction, and processing fees associated with fundraising efforts. This guarantees that 100% of donor contributions go directly to Micro NGOs. Furthermore, if the funds raised fall short, Dreamers steps in to bridge the gap to ensure stable operations for Micro NGOs.

To sustain our operations and maintain the "zero administrative fees" model, Dreamers relies on non-traditional funding, such as lottery proceeds from e-invoices that GOMAJI customers preset for donation to the Association.

As CEO, Alin leads the Association in leveraging digital technology (including digital marketing, AI applications, and cybersecurity) to empower micro-scale social welfare organizations, ensuring they can operate sustainably and remain fully focused on supporting vulnerable communities on the front line.

WHAT ARE MICRO NGOS?

Across Taiwan, there are over 8,000 Micro NGOs quietly operating in every corner of society, providing essential care and support to underserved populations. These organizations are typically labeled “Micro” because they function with an average of just two full-time staff members.

Their impactful work includes:

• Running after-school programs for disadvantaged children in remote areas.

• Caring for stray animals in secluded mountain regions.

• Providing meals and companionship to isolated seniors.

• Supporting individuals with disabilities on their journey to independence.

The Challenges They Face

Micro NGOs, despite their mission-driven passion, face systemic challenges due to their limited capacity:

• Limited Funding & Over-Concentration of Donations: They lack the visibility and dedicated personnel for marketing. A 2021 report showed that the top 6% of NPOs absorbed over 81% of donations, leaving Micro NGOs to compete for the remaining resources.

• Insufficient Workforce & Scarce Resources: Limited workforce prevents them from effectively handling administrative duties, outreach, or promotional activities.
